This update introduces many new features, improvements and fixes to help you work faster and
more efficiently with your raster files.
New
Discrete heatmaps show a variable as stepped colour bands.
You can add polygon overlays with separate fill and border colours and each vector overlay
gets a geometry info button.
Browse ensemble members and vertical levels of GRIB ensembles. The selected member is shown
in the plot header.
WRF output now shows real dates for every time step.
A dedicated Overlays tab in Settings for default styles of vector overlays and vector
fields.
Improved
Much faster loading of large GRIB files with tens of thousands of messages. Heatmaps and
filled contours draw faster, as do pan, zoom and time-series charts.
GRIB values stay in their native units (such as Kelvin) by default. A new
Settings ▸ Advanced option converts them.
Variables are sorted by name.
Variable Info opens a dedicated window. Additionally, Variable Info and Edit Levels now
follow the active document.
Edit Levels applies changes as you type and a new button can reset to automatic levels.
Vector overlays are listed in a table with +/− buttons and the same file can't be added
twice.
Units are formatted consistently, with proper subscripts and superscripts.
Overlay style defaults from Settings now apply to open documents.
Discrete scales now allow as few as 2 bands.
Native font picker.
The Settings window animates between tabs.
Better VoiceOver support for the toolbar and the overlay sidebar.
The zoom percentage in the toolbar follows your locale.
Improved Italian localisation.
Fixed
Global GRIB grids such as ERA5 keep their native 0–360° longitude order. Previously they
were plotted off by 180°.
Contour and vector-field pickers only offer variables on the plotted grid.
RasterScope crashed when opening GRIB files with more than 65,536 messages.
GRIB time steps were shown as raw seconds.
A rare bug with Area Zoom switching the wrong way.
The missing-value colour now matches between heatmap and filled-contour plots.
Failed chart PNG exports are now reported.
Colour wells had the wrong height on macOS Sequoia.
Edit Levels could write one document's levels into another.
