RasterScope is compatible with macOS Sequoia (15.6) and later versions.
Currently, the iPad is not supported.
NetCDF-3/4 (.nc, .nc4, .cdf,
.netcdf), HDF5 (.h5, .hdf5,
.he5), GRIB1/2 (.grib, .grib2,
.grb, .grb2), Surfer GRD (.grd),
Arc/Info ASCII Grid (.asc) and GeoTIFF/BigTIFF/Cloud-Optimized
GeoTIFF (.tif, .tiff).
RasterScope is based on GDAL.
Shapefile (.shp), GeoJSON
(.geojson/.json), GeoPackage
(.gpkg), KML (.kml),
GML (.gml), GPX (.gpx) and MapInfo TAB/MIF
(.tab, .mif).
Point, line and polygon geometries are supported. Polygons can have separate fill and
border colours.
Overlays are reprojected automatically to match the raster’s coordinate system,
but if the raster itself has no CRS, no reprojection is performed: the overlay’s
coordinates are plotted as-is, so it will only line up with the data if
the vector file already shares the raster’s native coordinate system.
RasterScope follows macOS setting in System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Windows. Switch off Close windows when quitting an application to have the documents' state restored when you relaunch the app.
No. RasterScope is a read-only viewer. Files are never modified: use Export
(⌘E) to save a plot as a PNG image instead.
